Area Men and Monsterboys: Love Has Claws
In the spirit of a new year, I’m trying something new—self publishing! Over the course of 2019, I plan to release three novellas in the Love Has Claws series. Love Has Claws stories are loosely connected by a strange town called Lastings, but each can stand alone. Each story has a queer couple at the centre, some already acquainted, some meeting each other for the first time. HEA guaranteed!
I mean. Eventually.
Okay, so that’s the ‘love’ covered—what’s with the claws?
‘Claws’ are why I’ve been calling this the ‘area man and monsterboy’ trilogy on twitter. Each story features a different paranormal creature, as that’s what I love writing; I enjoy exploring the possibility of different forms, the way their lives might resemble our own (or very much not!), and also I think they’re neat. This time, though, I wanted to try writing outside my usual beloved werewolves.
So what kind of creatures can we expect to see in Love Has Claws? Can anyone say ‘selkie’? Vampire? Merpeople?
